Medical Committee

The Medical Committee is committed to advancing the Diocese’s ministry of healing through quality healthcare, institutional development, healthcare education, and compassionate service to individuals and communities.

CSI Mission General Hospital, Woriyur, has continued to enhance its multispeciality services through the phased renovation and upgrading of key clinical areas, including the casualty section and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while work has progressed towards establishing a new operation theatre. The hospital has recorded encouraging growth in clinical services, with increased utilisation of its laboratory, X-ray, CT scan, and pharmacy facilities. Its commitment to quality healthcare has been further demonstrated through NABH entry-level accreditation, ongoing preparations for higher accreditation, and continued efforts towards NABL accreditation.

Clinical services have been further expanded through the installation of an advanced endoscopy unit, while plans are underway to establish an ALC Clinic with the support of CMC Vellore. Peripheral clinics continue to extend accessible, community-based healthcare through the services of doctors and allied health professionals. An eye camp conducted in Dharapuram screened 500 people and facilitated 55 surgeries, providing timely and much-needed ophthalmic care to the community.

The Diocese has also continued to strengthen nursing education by expanding GNM and B.Sc. Nursing intake, enhancing academic infrastructure and technology, and improving student learning and residential facilities, including plans for a new hostel. At Bishop’s College of Nursing, Dharapuram, investments in smart classroom technology, computer facilities, biometric systems, safe drinking water, and campus infrastructure have contributed to creating a more conducive environment for professional education and student development.

CSI Anne Booth Mission Hospital, Dharapuram, has expanded its clinical outreach through the appointment of additional medical personnel, introduction of palliative care services, specialist clinics, and the provision of an ambulance for patient transportation and peripheral medical visits. At the same time, the ANM Training School continues to pursue stronger academic affiliations and increased student intake, further contributing to the Diocese’s commitment to healthcare education and professional training.
