Property Committee

The Property Committee is committed to the responsible stewardship, development, and strategic management of diocesan properties, ensuring that these assets effectively support the Church’s ministry, mission, and long-term growth.

Recent key property acquisitions include properties at Karumandapam and North ‘D’, as well as the site for All Saints Church, Archampatti. At Karumandapam, additional properties were acquired for church-related development, while land was purchased at North ‘D’ for the establishment of a cemetery. A site was also acquired for All Saints Church, Archampatti. These acquisitions represent significant investments in strengthening the Diocese’s long-term asset base and supporting future ministry needs.

The Diocese further facilitated property development at Kovilur through the acquisition of an additional parcel of land and supported the registration expenses as requested by the concerned congregation. Building and renovation initiatives also received sustained attention, with diocesan funds supporting new construction and refurbishment projects across 40 congregations and institutions.

The Committee’s wider development portfolio continued to expand, with 35 developing congregations and 22 developing institutions recorded in 2026. The historic Manapparai school and playground property remained a strategic priority, with the proposed stadium development progressing through official procedures, tender processes, and coordination with the concerned institutions.

Property administration has also been strengthened through systematic reviews of rental arrangements, including periodic revision of rents, formalisation of agreements, and measures to improve the utilisation, maintenance, and protection of diocesan properties. These efforts seek to ensure that diocesan assets are managed efficiently, legally, and in a manner that serves both present and future needs.
