Finance Committee
Financial Stewardship in Action
The year in the ministry
The Finance Committee is committed to strengthening financial stewardship, responsible resource mobilisation, and sustainable financial support for the Diocese’s ministries and institutions.
Significant attention has been given to the welfare of clergy and retired ministers, with enhancements in dearness allowance, pension, and gratuity, reflecting the Diocese’s commitment to ensuring dignified and sustainable ministry. Arudpanivizha offerings and other voluntary contributions continue to provide valuable support for pastoral ministry and the wider mission of the Diocese.
Income generated from diocesan properties and commercial premises is systematically managed and channelled towards diocesan development. Continuous efforts are also being made to strengthen rental administration, improve the management of properties, and safeguard diocesan assets. Financial assistance was extended to 12 diocesan institutions, including schools, a hospital, and other ministries, helping them sustain their essential operations.
A new church at Nangur–Seerangam Tirunagari was completed through an offering of ₹21 lakh and consecrated on 20 May 2026, demonstrating the significant impact that purposeful financial mobilisation can have on the growth of the Church’s ministry. The Diocese also continued major institutional investments, including the renovation and upgrading of the diocesan office premises and the creation of improved facilities to meet its administrative, meeting, and ministry needs.
Financial governance and accountability were further strengthened through the timely remittance of diocesan shares, compliance with statutory requirements relating to GST and TDS, proper donor documentation, disciplined banking practices, and accountable expenditure procedures. These measures reflect an ongoing commitment to ensuring that financial resources are managed with integrity, prudence, and a clear sense of responsibility.
Through prudent financial management and purposeful mobilisation of resources, the Finance Committee seeks to ensure that the Diocese’s financial resources are used responsibly in support of its ministry, institutions, clergy, and communities. The continued emphasis on accountability, transparency, and responsible resource utilisation reflects a commitment to ensuring that every resource entrusted to the Diocese contributes meaningfully to the advancement of God’s work and the well-being of the people it serves.
