Department of Youth Ministry

The Department of Youth Ministry seeks to nurture and empower young people across the Diocese through spiritual formation, leadership development, skills training, and meaningful community participation.

School outreach initiatives support young people in their faith journey, mental well-being, self-confidence, preparation for higher education, and sense of social responsibility, reaching hundreds of school students across the Diocese. Four zonal ‘Discipline and Leadership’ Camps engaged more than 200 young people, providing opportunities to develop teamwork, communication, leadership, discipleship, and responsible citizenship.

Study and Mission Exposure Programmes conducted at places such as Tarangambadi enabled young people to explore Church History through role-play and group discussions, while also providing practical training in selected areas of computer applications. Youth workers participated in an Exposure Camp at Hope Garden, which further strengthened experiential learning, leadership skills, and preparedness for ministry.

The Department also conducts Online Ministry through daily devotions, creating opportunities for young people to remain connected with the Word of God and with one another. Awareness seminars address important concerns such as health, cyber safety, and social responsibility, while young people are encouraged to express and share their faith through art, media, and other creative forms of communication.

Sports tournaments provide opportunities for fellowship, discipline, teamwork, and healthy competition. The Diocesan Youth Convention, bringing together more than 600 delegates, provides a larger platform for worship, learning, fellowship, and renewed commitment to Christian life and service. The digital initiative ‘One-Minute News’, featuring concise news and messages through YouTube and having received more than 6,000 views, further strengthens communication, engagement, and Christian witness among young people.
